Now I'll tell you a memory, a memory that isn't mine
Of the time when the Mender came and pinned it to mind

Now I recall history as it was meant to be
We traded in our savagery, entitled to technology
We took the Mender's tapestry, unravelled it so carelessly
A Doctor's called, "Emergency!"
Examined you extensively, although you disagree
With medicine's old approach
He's boldly peering down your throat, as you are told
The Doctor is your friend

And if you say, "Ahhh..." he'll see you through, beginning to the end

There's a comet -- our name on it

There's an ice age on the front page

I will tell you, it's ringing true when read between the lines

I took for granted graciously, my gratitude for gravity
The grandiose that was holding me,
Begrudgingly has set me free
The harbinger that came to thee, the busy bees of used-to-be
I killed them single-handedly
A deadly stand for industry was forced upon hypnotically
(For it was a spell they had on me)
Now it dolefully degenerates my dignity (to some degree)

But if I say, "Nay...." they'll probably come and take me away

A tear in the tailored, revealing a failure to
Veil the valor of cowardly hours spent ruthlessly recluse
Maybe waiting for thunder to sound after a flash in the clouds
